Law enforcement officials in Massachusetts reported that a minimum of four individuals sustained gunshot wounds while hundreds of people were assembled late Friday night following a World Cup soccer match.
According to an official statement from the Brockton Police Department, authorities began receiving numerous reports regarding gunfire shortly before the clock struck midnight on Friday. Responding officers arrived at the intersection of Park Street and Main Street, where they discovered at least four victims suffering from gunshot injuries.
Police confirmed that all four wounded individuals were taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment, although their current medical conditions remain unknown at this time. As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection with the incident.
The gathering occurred in the wake of a match between Norway and France, which took place earlier that day at Gillette Stadium located in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Investigation into the shooting is ongoing as police continue to look for further information.
