Local government officials reported that a light aircraft crashed into the tallest building in Beijing this past Friday. The incident, which is considered highly unusual for the Chinese capital due to strict airspace regulations, resulted in the death of the pilot.
In addition to the pilot, 13 other people who were not aboard the aircraft sustained injuries during the crash. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the rare aviation accident in the heavily restricted skies above the city.
