The incident occurred following widespread witness accounts and emergency evacuations within the city’s primary business district.

Flightradar24 shared the flight trajectory of the vessel, identified as a Sunward SA 60L Aurora, on social media. The plane departed from an airport located roughly 50 kilometers (30 miles) east of the capital. It tracked westward before its path terminated just east of the East Third Ring Road shortly before 6 p.m. local time. The tracking service confirmed the aircraft struck the CITIC Tower, also recognized as China Zun. The 108-story structure stands over 1,700 feet (528 meters) tall and is located near a dense collection of skyscrapers.

The tower is widely considered one of Beijing’s most iconic landmarks, known for its distinct design that resembles an ancient Chinese wine vessel. Details regarding the cause of the crash remain unknown, particularly given the city’s rigorous airspace regulations and recent bans on drone activity. Information concerning the pilot and potential ground casualties has not been released.

Chinese authorities have not provided official commentary, and the incident has not been covered by domestic state media outlets. Reports and social media discussions regarding the crash have been largely removed from the Chinese internet, although video footage continues to circulate on international platforms. Images shared online appear to depict aircraft debris near the tower, and one image displays a partial registration number “B-12.” The aircraft’s full registration is identified as B-12PP.

Associated Press photography indicates a noticeable breach in the glass facade on one side of the CITIC Tower. One individual employed at the building, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the event, confirmed the collision and noted that the building’s fire alarms were activated. The scene featured a significant presence of police, fire services, and ambulances. Authorities actively discouraged onlookers from filming or photographing the area.

Beijing officials had recently implemented new restrictions on the city’s already strictly managed airspace, including a prohibition on the sale and operation of consumer drones within the capital region.

A small aircraft impacted Beijing’s tallest skyscraper, the CITIC Tower, on Friday, with flight data confirming the plane’s path before the incident occurred.

[106
715,713,716,714,717
post-985","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-other","tag-aviation-accident","tag-beijing","tag-china-news","tag-citic-tower","tag-flightradar24
["GET
